The paint spray room with down draft is suitable for containment of airless and electrostatic sprays painting mist. The paint mist produced by paint spray operation is carried downwards due to suction effect created by exhaust fan (15). The spray mist with over sprayed paint, but solid and discharge solvent fumes are trapped in disposable paint trap filters under the floor, grating inside the paint spray room due to the negative pressure created by exhaust fan (15).
The paint mist and gasses are sucked from the closed paint spray room, which keeps the atmosphere healthy inside the chamber for the operator. Ventilating air is sucked through the air box (5). The paint spray room is provided with a hinged door (3) that should be fully closed and locked when the paint spray operation is in progress.
During normal operation, dust free air enters the paint room through the top air inlet, filters and then passes through the disposable paint trap filters (10) in the room floor. Paint mist gets trapped on the outside surfaces of the filters and clean air flows through the filters into the pit where it exists through the clean air outlet of an exhaust fan (15) and a chimney canopy.
Salient Features:
- Maintains dust level to minimum, prevents spreading of paint and maintains clean air at the operators breathing level.
- Collects over sprayed paint, solid and discharge solvent fumes outside the building.
- Reduces the fire hazard.
